Ideas for Dressing Rooms
A changing or dressing room can actually be incorporated into your home. In fact, you can designate an extra space and convert it into a walk-in closet or dressing room. If you have a penchant for dressing up or fancy the idea of having a dressing room, here are tips you should consider.
To begin your dressing room project, clean up the space thoroughly. More often than not, it is easier to start from scratch, so try to remove everything. If necessary, redo the walls and ceilings by repairing and repainting them. Also, check if the windows and doors are in good condition. Next, furnish the space with necessary items like dresser, lighting fixture, seats, and big mirror. Find ideal location for each of these items. Try securing a full-size mirror that can cover an empty wall. Afterwards, position your dresser or closet. If the room already has a built-in closet, you can revamp that. Make use of a rolling clothing bar for hanged clothes. Set it at one side of the room, preferably right next to the closet or dressing cabinet. A key to knowing if you have the right outfit or make-up is being able to see your reflection clearly on the mirror. So, make sure you have ample lighting. Aside from the lighting on the ceilings or walls, provide dedicated lighting for your dresser. Create a seating area in the room by placing a comfy sofa. This is to accommodate your stylist or a couple friends who like to help you get dressed. Provide few entertainment devices like a television or computer. Cover windows with curtains or blinds, but do not block them completely. You may add other decorations like posters and paintings that promote creativity.
